North Shore Fall Colors

From the reds and oranges of the maple trees to the yellows and oranges of the birch and aspen and the fiery reds of the sumac, the forest makes an amazing canvas for some of Mother Nature’s best work. Depending on the weather and varieties of trees, the fall foliage colors tend to peak around the last week of September. The early season starts with the maple trees in September to early October. The fall colors wrap up with the poplar trees through late October. Just about every hiking trail in the area will lead you to amazing fall colors surrounded by the fabulous views of Lake Superior and Gooseberry Falls or the rich history of the Split Rock Lighthouse.
